On October 7 at the Yacyretá hydroelectric power station (on the Paraguayan island Yasyretã), the directors of the Binational Entity (EBY), Nicanor Duarte Frutos (Paraguay) and Martín Goerling (Argentina), will sign the civil works construction contracts of the new hydroelectric power station of the Aña Cua arm of the Paraná river, as well as that of its corresponding to its electromechanical equipment.

The contract for the construction of the civil works of the new plant was awarded by EBY to the consortium made up of the Astaldi-Rovella Carranza-Tecnoedil firms, for US $ 193,247,760.85; while the equipment for the Voith Hudro Ltda. group, for US $ 99,689,577.84, both quotes well below the price estimated by EBY technicians.
