Two decades after having sold 49% of the Bayano hydroelectric stake to AES company, the Panamanian government prepares to begin negotiations to buy the shares back.
The authorization for the government to begin negotiations was completed through the Cabinet Council Resolution No. 106 of October 28, which guarantees the beginning of the negotiations, which aim to draw up a roadmap that allow to transfer the Bayano hydroelectric to the State.
At the time that the hydroelectric plant passes entirely to the ACP, the authorities plan to make several investments in infrastructure to bring water from Lake Bayano to Alajuela.
